Fogarty Beach along Oregon Coast

What a beautiful day my son and I had doing the Annual Oregon Beach Clean up this year. At first the weather was questionable, it rained basically on our 2 hour drive to our beach of choice. But it's like someone new how much we wanted to help others and not get wet in the process. Goodness knows we have done that before...So as we climbed out of the car, the rain stopped and blue sky emerged. The photo here is later in the day on our way home. Anyhow, we cleaned up some garbage, not much I might add from Beverly Beach, and then proceeded to our daily events. We headed to Newport for some much needed hot clam chowder, oh it was delicious. I never thought I would say that as I am not a clam person, but recently I tried it from World Famous Mo's and it's really good! Then we drove back to Depot Bay and watched a couple of whaled frolic in the channel. We did a whale watching tour and it was gorgeous. It was probably the roughest the water has been, but it wasn't bad. We only saw one whale out in the water's. After we left there, we were heading to "D" beach, but stopped at Fogarty Beach as we had never stopped here before. We were pleasantly surprised with a beautiful pebbly beach with crashing waves and a beautiful view. As you can see, Donnie enjoys himself at the ocean too. All in all, we had a wonderful time together. I am so glad we started this ritual with the kids, teaching them about working with the community and spending time with your parents.
